Baker’s Bay is a premier luxury marina and resort community in the Bahamas, featuring a world-class 200+ slip mega-yacht marina designed to accommodate large private vessels and high-end waterfront amenities. The approximately $44 million marina development included extensive marine infrastructure, custom dock systems, bulkheads, supply piers, and specialized mooring facilities engineered for the demands of large yacht operations in a challenging coastal environment.

Mike served as the Project Manager and Lead Structural Engineer for the marina development during tenure at Moffatt & Nichol.

Project responsibilities included:
• Leading structural design of major marina components
• Developing engineering solutions tailored to high-energy coastal conditions and mega-yacht operational requirements

Construction and delivery responsibilities included:
• Preparing construction documents, technical specifications, and detailed cost estimates
• Supporting contractor procurement through bid phase coordination and technical review
• Conducting regular site visits to the Bahamas to monitor construction progress and resolve field conditions
• Evaluating value engineering proposals and supporting design optimization during construction

Collaborative design contributions included:
• Coordinating with the project architect and development team on custom residential waterfront docks
• Designing fixed and floating dock systems for private residences
• Engineering high-wind mooring systems for mega-yacht berthing and long-term resiliency
